Why private instruction?
There are many reasons for learning one on one: To learn from scratch in order to feel comfortable in yoga classes; to learn how to practice with a physical limitation; or, for guidance and personalized attention to incorporate yoga as a more essential part of their life.

What does a private session look like?
All sessions will follow the same “flow” as my classes: we will begin with a “check in” or awareness exercise and then continue with pranayama or breath work. Next we’ll combine breath and movement in the asanas or postures, ending with relaxation. We’ll have time to share thoughts about your experience and plan your practice. Each of these segments will change in time and content with the individual. Many other tools of yoga may be incorporated. The possibilities are endless! The first session will be about 90 minutes long and subsequent ones are 60 minutes.

How many sessions?
This can vary greatly. I strongly recommend a minimum of three to six sessions in order for us to assess your needs and plan a program to meet those needs. With commitment, your practice will evolve. You may wish to continue on your own with the customized CD for home practice and schedule periodic sessions to accommodate your changing needs. You may prefer to continue with individual sessions to support your ongoing practice. The key here is practice!

What is the cost?
A package of three, including the initial assessment and CD, is $200; six is $350.00, and each additional session would be $60. We can adjust a CD to your evolving practice without additional charge. An individual assessment/class is $75.
